Melinda (not her real name) came into the program a broken woman. On the initial interview she could not stop crying. When we invited her into our program, Melinda immediately accepted the offer to participate in individual counseling with one of our professional counselors. The counseling helped her in so many aspects of her life. On her birthday, Melinda was given a Brighton purse. The Brighton Store donates merchandise to us to give to our ladies. The staff set the purse on her bed. A few hours later, Melinda came home and we heard a scream, she literally jumped for joy. She loved the purse! Melinda began searching for employment and after a few weeks found a great job. After six months in our first step program and six months in our second step program Melinda is living in her own apartment in Fullerton and enjoying life. She even saved money to purchase a car.
